Process

We met as a group and did some brainstorming on what we all seem to have in common. The result of our devising was the Italian delicacy, pizza.  This became our theme and this is because not only do we all like the dish but also a pizza is usually made with eight slices, this was pivotal to our project especially since we had to address eight different aspects and categories to the final project.

Synopsis
For the final project we chose point of view aspect, in this category we made use of the fisheye lens to give the perspective of somebody being delivered a pizza. Next was the double entendre section, where we exploited pictures of pizza made in the shape of the mathematical symbol, pie. With the multi frame department, the act of making a pizza was caught in three frames. The framing of the image category happened to be overlapping in our other sections due to the fact that each picture used was edited and cropped to display what we wanted. Next was the symbol aspect of the project, in this dimension we created a picture of a pizza decorated with pepperonis in the shape of a marijuana leaf.  We used this iconic leaf because it is much more than a representation for drugs but rather a modern day symbol for youth and recreation. In the life and death segment, we decided to stick with our theme therefore we illustrated a prepared pizza ready for consumption and on the other hand a devoured pizza signified by the crust left in the box. Lastly, in the sound portion, we made use of a vintage traditional Italian song to strengthen our piece as well as give it a sense familiarity and harmony.

"Heads Up"

The away team is behind by one point and it is the last minute of the game. They have the opportunity to bring it back and tie the game to go into overtime. This one kick gives them the chance that they have been waiting for all season. The kicker is ready to make the shot, and send both teams into overtime. The winner of this game, will be the conference champion.

Final:

Line: A continuous mark with width and height, but no depth, made with a moving point.

Examples: The yellow field goal posts behind our heads would be a "Line".

As well as the white yard lines at our feet.

ShapeEnclosed area defined by lines or color.

Examples: The bowling ball leads as a circle into the triangular "marks" on the alley floor.

The square and rectangular buildings above the pins also represent shapes.

Space: The area around, between, or within components of an artwork.

Examples: The wooden posts are lines spaced from the rectangular fences.

Texture: Refers to the tactile quality of an object, whether real or perceived through the image.

Example: The clouds look like a fluffy, pillow-like, texture.

Emphasis: a point of focus in your picture

Example: Firework is an obvious point of focus in the center of the image.

Balance: sense of visual symmetry in the art work; components of an image are arranged around a focal point

Example: Symmetry of Michael Jordan taking shots. M.J. shooting is arranged around the image of Jordan & 23.

Harmony: similar colors are balanced throughout the artwork.

Examples: The North Carolina crowd's famous Carolina blue & White, flood the crowd in a harmonic fashion.

Variety: Interesting visual piece, using of several contrasting elements of art.

Examples: The extra large signs in proportion to the people, along with the different stars which provide plenty of emphasis that only All-Stars stay at this resort.

Movement: Shapes, Colors, Lines, and forms direct the eye around a work.

Examples: The sets of pins, ceiling tiles, multiple bowling balls, and the floor rectangular boards.

Proportion: Shapes & Objects that lead the viewer to believe they are closer and much smaller.

Examples: The buildings in the back look smaller than the extra large palm trees close by.

Rhythm: The eye follows a path of colors & shapes, or motifs, around the composition.

Examples: The eye automatically follows the double rainbow around the house in the main image.

Unity: A harmonious art work that uses many elements to create the figure.

Examples: The many colors & shapes ultimately make the picture.
