My
theme for this journal project is what I have been a part of within sports this
year. I am a Sports Management Major so I have worked for three teams during my
freshman year. In the fall, I went to FSU for Halloween weekend when they
played UM. It was a great game as they won 41-14 and I sat front row behind the
goal posts. I also worked for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a Game Day Pirate. I
had a great experience as I saw the Hall Of Fame ceremony for Warren Sapp. In
the winter I worked for the Tampa Bay Lightning as a 50/50 consultant. I got to
watch the Flyers, my favorite team, and also saw the 2004 Stanley Cup 10 year anniversary
celebration. During the month of March, I worked for the New York Yankees in
the Game Day Operations department. It was a cool experience as they just signed
a Japanese Pitcher named Tanaka, and it was Derek Jeter’s last spring training.
After one year in Tampa, I am very happy with my resume thus far.
